Avaya IP Office

General Overview

The Avaya IP Office is a simple but very elegant solution which is a competent, well featured telephone system that can be configured as a PBX (using basic handsets) a keyphone system (using proprietary digital handsets) or a purely Voice over IP (VoIP) solution depending on requirements & budgets. Whilst a “vanilla” installation will deliver a huge amount of additional benefits to users over that delivered by traditional systems, some very powerful add-on software makes the switch capable of being developed to accommodate the most demanding call centre environments. The best way to appreciate the benefits is to arrange an consultation and then a demonstration. click here to be contacted regarding IP Office

How it works

Whilst the system will run completely independently of a users IT network, a simple connection can be made between the telephone system & IT network so that relevant system information can be presented on any PC (or laptop) and similarly calls can be instigated from the desktop interface.

This protects the investment in the IT network and also means users can get far more relevant information than they would investing in expensive proprietary keysets – telephones are designed for talking into; PCs are designed to display information & respond to commands. Whilst most telephone systems available today will offer some form of computer telephony integration, the operational principle described above was the raison d’être for this system’s original design.

Originally launched as the Network Alchemy in the late 90’s this system was massively successful and was revised & re-launched as the IP Office in mid 2001, since then over 30,000 systems have been sold.

System Family

The Avaya IP Office boasts systems for running from only a handful of lines & extensions to over ninety lines & three hundred and sixty extensions. Multiple sites can be connected together to give a potential of running over 5000 extensions. With sites networked together* using a WAN / VPN for data, calls can be answered at any site, calls between sites would be free and users can view availability of colleagues at remote locations. Home workers with VPN access to the office can deploy VoIP handsets to become remote extensions of the office switchboard without tying up the residential line or running up excessive mobile phone bills.
